Environmental Planning & Environmental Science Expertise

Defined simply, land use planning is the process by which public agencies and local governments work with the interested public to determine the intensity (how much) and the geographical arrangement (where) of various land uses.

Environmental Planners and Environmental Scientists apply their understanding of physical, biological, and social sciences to determine environmental impact and to make better informed land use decisions.  The focus of environmental planning is to protect significant natural, cultural and historical features from negative impacts associated with land use development practices.

Suzanne Forbes, AICP is a nationally-certified planner (American Institute of Certified Planners, 1997).  Suzanne has expertise in community planning, environmental planning, and environmental science.  She has successfully and creatively applied her expertise for over 20 years in the following professional planning areas:

Fundraising Expertise

Survey after survey has shown that Americans strongly support preserving the environment.  However, communities, environmental organizations, and individuals don’t always have the capital needed to fund the studies, projects, and resource protection regulations required to protect valued natural, historical, and recreational resources.

Through the years, Suzanne Forbes, AICP has successfully procured hundreds of thousands of dollars for her clients in their efforts to protect, restore, and manage a myriad of environmental and historic resources.
